Adamah is excited to celebrate 13 Jewish non-profit organizations who received funding from the latest round of Adamah’s Climate Action Fund.
These organizations are members of Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition, where they receive guidance and support on how to create a Climate Action Plan, and ultimately to implement climate action projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As a member of Adamah’s Coalition, they are also able to apply for grants and loans in support of their work.
Since 2023, Adamah has awarded $2.3 million in grants and loans as part of this Climate Action Fund, a sign that the Jewish organizations are paying attention to the effects of climate change and want to make a difference.
The Adamah Climate Action Fund currently offers financial support through three regional programs:
- Adamah NY Climate Action Fund (for schools and synagogues located in NYC’s five boroughs, Westchester, and Long Island): Matching grants up to $10,000 per project
- LA Sustainability Grant Fund (Los Angeles County, CA): Matching grants up to $20,000
- North American Climate Action Loan Fund: Interest-free loans up to $250,000

Beth-El The Heights Synagogue
Cleveland Heights, OH
Project: Replace outdated heat pumps with energy-efficient electric heat pumps.
Outcome: Expected to save $2,000 annually—or $50,000 over the life of the equipment.
Congregation Sha’ar Zahav
San Francisco, CA
Project: Replacing gas-fired furnaces with energy-efficient heat pumps.
Outcome: Projected to save $11,000 over the life of the equipment, it will provide the congregation’s first air conditioning for more intense heat waves.
First Hebrew Congregation
Peekskill, NY
Project: Installing a 56kW solar energy system.
Outcome: Projected to save $18,000 annually on electricity costs and 32 tons of CO2e.

Funding Opportunities and New Deadline
Adamah plans to launch additional regional grant programs in the coming months to expand its reach.
The next deadline to apply for funding is November 5, 2026. All applicants must be members of Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition, a growing network of Jewish organizations committed to climate action. Current members include major umbrella organizations of Jewish life including Jewish Federations of North America, Jewish Funders Network, Hillel International, Prizmah, and JCC Association of North America, as well as leaders of major Jewish denominations (including the Central Conference of American Rabbis, Rabbinical Assembly, Rabbinical Council of America, Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association and Reconstructing Judaism, Union for Reform Judaism, and United Synagogues of Conservative Judaism).
