Adamah on Campus came into my life as a royal blue “learn more here!” link toward the tail end of 2023. In front of me was an opportunity to connect the work we were doing at Muhlenberg Hillel with a national movement of inspired students asking familiar questions, sharing frustrations, and imagining solutions together. It was a community I didn’t know I needed until I had it.
I co-founded Muhlenberg’s chapter of Adamah on Campus in January 2024. Throughout my final year and a half of school, I was deeply grateful for a network of students and mentors who helped co-inspire campus action and navigate organizational challenges together. Now, after graduating in May, I get to watch that community continue to bloom in the hands, hearts, and minds of new, vibrant leadership.
Even though I’ve graduated from Adamah on Campus, I experience the ripple effects of that time every day.
Those ripples take many forms—from my ba’al tashchit kitchen composting practice, to Modeh Ani in dewy morning air, to Shabbat dinners with seasonal produce shared among housemates. Jewish and environmental values are honored in one breath. Adamah gave me both the language and the community for that inherent intertwining.
My time with Adamah prompted me to reflect- how does my Judaism inspire my environmental stewardship—and how does my environmental work shape my Judaism? How will I weave those values into a holistic expression each day?
Those questions, first lifted up through my partnership with Adamah and carried forward into my everyday work, will remain a golden thread along my journey.
