As the Faith Director for ecoAmerica’s Blessed Tomorrow program, and facilitator of the One Home One Future campaign, I am honored to work with the amazing staff and various partner leaders of Adamah. Through conversations, programs and joint work, my faith is deepened and I am challenged by the good people and good work here.
The best part of my job is connecting with and learning from people of many faiths who are advancing climate solutions.
The staff and partner leaders of Adamah are people for whom I am incredibly grateful. One young Adamah leader took a gap year after high school to work at different farms to literally connect her faith to the soil and food. One synagogue in the southwest has such a deep tie to the earth that they make every decision through a “green” lens. One Rabbi in Maryland is calling synagogue boards to have a sustainability officer as a permanent board role. One retired person in Florida is leading an interfaith climate organization out of her call to Tikkun Olam.
My hope and prayer is that the over 500 One Home One Future congregations and the over 500 Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition members will soon be 5,000 and then 300,000
