Join volunteers, educators, and the farm team at Pearlstone for a day of tree planting, garden prep, and other service projects as we create more breathable air and prepare our lands to produce delicious, healthy, organic food.

Choose the project that’s right for you! Volunteers working outside should be ready to get their hands dirty! Indoor service projects will also be available for people who prefer an indoor option.
Stay at Pearlstone after your volunteer project and learn about sheep shearing and wool preparation as we shear our amazing Pearlstone sheep! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy before the sheep shearing starts at 2:00 in the pasture area.
Tree Planting: (15 person max, 6 years old minimum) Volunteers will prepare the soil, plant, and help saplings get settled in the earth as we build our tree canopy on the Pearlstone campus!
Requirements: Volunteers will be lifting approximately 20 pounds, and will need to be able to lift and squat on a regular basis, as well as moving over uneven ground.
Vine and Tree Trimming: (15 person max, 13 years old minimum)
Volunteers will grab a pair of loppers to remove vines in preparation for replanting and to keep trees trimmed and healthy. In their work, volunteers will learn how people have a critical role to play working in partnership with the land, water, and plants to keep the natural world healthy. Callary Pear and Bittersweet vines in meadows and behind the garden and building.
Requirements: Volunteers will be moving over uneven ground and will need the arm strength to use the equipment.
Memorial Garden: (10 person max)
Volunteers will help build a memorial garden honoring the lives lost in Israel on October 7. Through a multi-sensory experience, this garden will connect visitors to the land and the people of Israel.
Requirements: Volunteers will need to be able to reach the ground and will be digging in the dirt.
Crafting and Painting: (15 person max)
If outdoor service isn’t the right fit for you, join other volunteers indoors for a variety of activities that may include painting shelves for the new Pearlstone nature library, creating gift bags for individuals transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing, and making art from upcycled materials.
